BBC iPlayer for Xbox 360 seems very unlikely

BBC’s iPlayer gives the British the chance to catch up on any BBC TV shows or radio from the last week. Obviously this is a convenient service, particularly when one considers the amount of content the BBC owns. The service is available on a number of platforms, including the PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii.

However, the service probably won’t make it to the Xbox 360 any time soon, as Microsoft desires that the service be limited to paying Gold members only, a stance the BBC does not agree with. While a partnership would likely be beneficial to both parties, and to the consumer, whether or not one can be reached remains to be seen.
