American McGee’s Alice due in 2011?
Update: It turns out that the trailer was unofficial and made by a (talented!) fan, according to American McGee – straight from the horse’s mouth. Oops. [via Joystiq]
The incredibly-named American McGee has been in the industry for a long time; starting out at id Software, working on classics such as Doom and Quake. By the end of the ’90s, he branched out into creating his own games, placing his name on each. American McGee’s Alice was released in 2000, a third-person, rather dark and twisted title based on the Alice in Wonderland world, featuring an insane Alice.
Little is currently known about the new project he and his team are working on. What has been revealed is that the game will revisit Alice, but whether it is a remake or sequel is a mystery. It was previously announced that the game will be released for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, and will be published by EA. The official website contains a new stop-motion teaser trailer, which uncovers two more facts: the game is out in 2011, and it will probably be quite creepy.
