Steam begins Borderlands pre-loading, servers overloaded

Valve’s download service Steam doesn’t always allow users to pre-load the games they pre-order, although first-party and co-operative games appear to be the given the honour fairly frequently. Borderlands owners on Steam have the opportunity to download the game before its upcoming Tuesday release, at which point the game will unlock.

At least, that’s the plan. Apparently the game is fairly popular or something, as Steam’s servers are just too busy to handle the demand at the moment. This probably stems from the fact that Steam is the go-to platform for those looking to buy Borderlands on the PC, because of both the 10% off pre-order discount and the four-pack deal, which, in conjunction with the pre-order discount, results in 4 copies of the game for $134.97 USD ($33.75 each). If you haven’t already, you have until Tuesday to act.
